Meet our Brand Ambassdors

Do you remember last month, we posted on our social media looking for some great local Brand Ambassadors to join our team? Well, we had a huge response, with a ton more applications then we could have ever expected (THANKS to all of you who showed interest!) and while we originally had intended to choose only 2 or 3 ambassadors this time, we had so much trouble narrowing it down and ended up with 5 amazing, talented, wonderful young ladies as the first group of ambassadors in this program.

We got together earlier this month to get to know each other a bit better, and of course, we couldn’t help but sneak them up into the studio to grab a couple quick shots! We let the girls ‘shop’ all the new arrivals, try on a bunch of great new pieces, and they got to choose their own outfit for their mini-shoot. Take a look below at how it all turned out…

Feeling Inspired…

The romper took the fashion world by a storm just a few years ago, and even though we aren’t rushing into summer shopping just yet, it’s good to know this trend remains strong this year. Numerous celebrities from A-listers to up and coming stars have rocked their own versions of this style, so you won’t hear anyone complaining about lack of inspiration.

One specific style you’ll be seeing a lot of this season is the retro romper, boasting 60’s inspired silhouettes with a dash of 70’s flair. Think wrapped versions, plunging necklines, short, bold styles, long, flared sleeves and retro prints. These rompers look gorgeous with oversized sunnies and platform heels, especially those chunky 70’s style sandals that will soon be popping everywhere.

The Perfect Spring Jacket

What’s not to love about an anorak? Roomy pockets are great when you’re on-the-go, and it’s lightweight style will carry you through much further than just this season. These cover-ups are casual and cute, perfect for throwing on over a simple sweater or your favorite tee once the weather starts to warm up.

Check out this jacket from Dex that we know you’ll love…

How to wear this season’s Blanket Cape

Boho is back with a vengeance – a floaty, floral and folky vengeance, that is. Fast becoming one of fashion’s staple trends across all seasons this year, for autumn/winter it is all about texture, layering and a heavy ’70s feel.

Fashion houses Chloé, Burberry and Lanvin showed everything from major retro prints to fringing, patchwork and seriously swoon-worthy knitwear on their Fall 15 catwalks. The beauty of this vibe being that too much, is never enough. Check out some images of one of our favorite blanket capes from Jackson Rowe below to see why we’ll be wearing boho right through this season and into next…

Who wouldn’t want to throw a blanket over their outfit? Exactly. These capes can  also work as mega huge scarves, or belted at the waist. You can throw them over your jacket or coat too, for added warmth and style.

Cozy up with your Blanket Scarf

Don’t confuse that oversized scarf with a blanket – OK, we can see how it happens, especially if you drape it over your shoulders, but wrap it around (and around) your neck and you’ll realize that no blanket ever looked like this. Comfort is the keyword right now, and it’s the oversized scarf that is trending again for winter 2015.

Casual and impromptu work best here. Style your scarf as a classic wrap, double loop or braided knot, adopt a sophisticated wrap, or stick to the simplicity of the never-ending infinity shape. However you work it, an oversized scarf can’t help but be a big part of your outfit, so reverse conventional wisdom (you’re always keen to do that, right?), and work your wardrobe around this statement piece.

Racing Heartbeat, Leather Jacket

We get stuck in the store, or in the office, way to much…so when we actually get into the studio to shoot, it’s great. We also try to get outside for a few shots (if the weather is cooperating!) because as we all know, that’s so much more fun…   😉

Last week, we found ourselves with a bit of time to have some fun after we finished up in the studio viagra dosierung. We grabbed some of our favorite pieces (seriously though – this *faux* leather jacket is amazing!) and our team went to work.

Thanks to Sarah Mickel Photography, Missy MacKinstosh – Makeup Artist, and the gorgeous Teigan from Dejavu Model Management.

On Trend // Boho Marks Metallic Tattoos

If you think temporary tattoos are too ’90’s, think again. These guys have made a serious comeback! Women all over the world have been donning these beautiful, jewelry-inspired temporary designs.

They’ve become a signature look for all those festival-goers out there thanks to the trend’s summery, playful vibe. Not the festival kinda girl? No worries, these have been enbraced by fashion circles everywhere, spotted all over our favorite street style bloggers as well. Start off subtle with a small design in a fun spot, and then bust out the larger, statement designs for those bikini clad days at the beach.

The best part is that no matter what look you decide to experiment with, it’s the most noncommittal trend to try this season: the designs naturally wash off in about four to six days (or you can scrub them off in the shower whenever you want).

A quick tip before you get started – these aren’t like the temporary tattoos you had as a kid, the kind you haphazardly slap on anywhere you want and call it a day, place the design in a place without much body hair to help it better adhere to your skin or you may find it rubbing off before you want it to.

Trend Report: Florals

A perennial favorite, the floral print finds a romantic revival this summer. Be prepared to embrace your inner lady with floral print dresses, swimsuits, shoes, and even sunglasses. This season’s florals come in soft pastel colours and vibrant hues, all of which are some variation of the garden theme.

Florals are all about having fun with fashion and embracing the joy and romance of spring. Perhaps this is why the floral trend is one that just won’t go away.
